This week my children and I have to travel to see family. We have a funeral to attend but because we are moving in a few weeks we want to take this time to spend a while with the family that we aren't sure when we will see next. Luckily a lot of our family is in one place.
When we travel I am always glad that we homeschool. While I know it isn't as easy as pulling a child from school and catching up homework later it does make it nice that education is portable. I am very glad for the K12 system of homeschooling when we are away. Even if I don't have an internet connection the majority of the school work can get done.
While I am the type of mom that needs a structured curriculum so I know what I am doing, it must be said that there are times when we have been on vacation that I feel the whole thing can be just as educational if the kids don't open a text or do a worksheet. Sometimes they learn more by talking, seeing and listening.
